End Of Year Round-Up

Well as 2016 comes to a close (a lot of us very thankful for that) I’d like to take the time to recap a few important events and announcements. Getting into Greece – Zakynthos – Part 1

At the beginning of May I found myself back in Zakynthos (or Zante as it is commonly known). This marked my third time to the Island and my husbands billionth (or so it seems). This trip was a family affair with two young adults and an 81 year old Grandfather accompanying us. We were all set for 6 days of sun and scenery and amazing Greek food. Let’s just say two out of three aint bad. We arrived early afternoon on Easter Sunday. We anticipated it to be quiet, after our recent trip to Kefalonia, where we discovered nothing happens until after Easter in the Islands. We weren’t wrong, there was absolutely nothing open, which was fine as it was a major religious holiday and pretty much everyone was roasting lamb in the front gardens. Navigating NYC - Arrival & Day 1

It’s no secret that I’ve always been obsessed with America. I am not sure why it took me nearly 33 years to get there but I suppose spending most of my life in Australia is a pretty good reason – It’s just so far away! But my lovely husband surprised me this year with an Easter/Birthday weekend trip to NYC. A place so familiar to me it was like walking on to the set of a TV show or movie. (Although it seems everything is ACTUALLY filmed in Canada these days). We arrived into NYC late at night after a pretty lousy 7hr flight via British Airways* and after a very lengthy exit out of the airport got into our very first yellow cab. A very touristy thing to do but hey. I didn’t feel like I was in the USA yet. Not even driving into the city.
