Well as 2016 comes to a close (a lot of us very thankful for that) I’d like to take the time to recap a few important events and announcements. The winners of the Goodreads competition were Emily T from Connecticut, USA and Diane N from Ontario, CA! Congrats ladies and I look forward to hearing your feedback soon. There will be another competition after the official release of ‘Heart’ which is January 6, 2017. My Official Top 100 Countdown results are now available. The Countdown covers everything from music, film, TV, books and celebs. You can view the results here. This year has been bittersweet, with me losing my beloved cat Cookie in January and then getting my book signed to a publisher in February. I’ve travelled to many beautiful places and got to see my best friend marry her long-time love. The momentum of Heart has been great and it’s crazy to think that it will be available to buy in two weeks!!! Thank you to those who follow this blog and/or my social media page...
At the beginning of May I found myself back in Zakynthos (or Zante as it is commonly known). This marked my third time to the Island and my husbands billionth (or so it seems). We stay in the Kaminia Villas which is a set of three 2BR villas just outside of the village of Lithakia. It’s lovely there with everything you would want or need. And so, so quiet. That evening we dined at Taverna Vardiola, as it was nearby and o...
After a bit of a stressful first half of 2016, my husband and I had a lovely all-inclusive retreat to the Spanish Canary Island of Lanzarote. The Canaries were new to us both and we had seen a bit of the main four on programmes like ‘A place in the sun’, so although we had a relaxing all-inclusive trip we hired a car with the intention of at least having a bit of an explore and scout for potential home away from home sites. We stayed at Hotel Costa Calero, which is about 20 mins from the airport in Arrecife. The first thing we noticed upon arriving in Lanzarote was how barren and black it was. It was like driving around the moon surface. Lanzarote is a volcanic island and as such most of the terrain is hard and dry and there is not a lot of trees and other flora. The hotel itself was ok, a little worn and tired, but we didn’t plan on getting up to much and it seemed perfectly fine for that purpose. We upgraded to the ‘Prestige’ class, which pays for itself fairly quickly. It i...
