Journey: Long Haul Plane Type: A340 img20161017112056I recently attended my friends wedding back home in Australia. This was a fly-by visit with my actual time in the company of friends and family spanning 5 days. 4 days were spent in transit! Last year I flew Philippines Air back from Sydney to London and really enjoyed it. Both legs of the long journey were virtually empty and meant I could stretch out and relax in relative comfort. Based on this experience, I booked Philippines Air (PAL) again for the wedding trip. Unfortunately, I did not have as much luck second time around. PAL are a no frills airline, i.e. there is no in-seat entertainment system which is found in most other airlines on long haul flights. They instead push you to download and install the ‘MyPAL’ player before boarding the flight. Then, once the plane is in the air for about an hour, you can connect via WiFi to the MyPAL player and you have a choice of several films and TV Show episodes to while away ...

Navigating NYC - Goodbye!

Our final day was a bit disjointed as our flight back home was not until 10:30 pm and we had to check out of the hotel by late morning. They kindly minded our bags for us while we decided to use the final part of our Gray Line ticket – the ferry trip to Lady Liberty. We caught the downtown bus, yet again, although given the rain was sticking around, we just sat in the downstairs area and rode it as a normal bus, given we already knew all the facts by now having been on this loop so much! When we got down to the Pier area we had just missed the ferry. The next one was n half an hour so we went and grabbed a coffee on Wall Street. The ferry was not very busy and we braved the rain and wind and went on the top floor – open air. I love boats and water and was very happy. It was nice to see Manhattan from the water. Long time no Mish...

Well, it's no secret I've been pretty quiet this year. To be completely honest, it's been a shit, shit, shit year. Glad to see the end of it. That being said, the music this year has been amazing and I've been spoiled for choice. So it's December. That time of the year when I come out of hiding to celebrate. No, not Christmas. THE MISHA FITT TOP 100 COUNTDOWN of course! Now in it's 19th official year. Thanks again mostly to Google Music user Rhys Bailey and his epic Triple J playlists I have a record number of songs to choose from. Also, what a year for my throwback bands?
